2026 Race To Cure Sarcoma – Tampa

Time seems to be flying by a bit fast these days. It’s September already and the Race To Cure Sarcoma here in Tampa is less than a month away! Usually the event is held in November, but this year it’s one month earlier.

A few notes about the race this year:

- The date for the race this year is Saturday, Oct. 3rd.
- There’s a new location this year as well. The event will be held this year at
  - Perry Harvey Sr. Park 1000 E Harrison St
    Tampa, FL 33602 View Map
- Looks like there is only a 1 or 2 mile fun run / walk. No timed races this year.

As always if you can’t make the race in person you can always do the race virtually! If you do decide to be in person for the race, this new location is just outside downtown Tampa. The Florida Aquarium is right down the road if you have time following the race. We’ve taken our boys there several times when they were younger. I’m guessing they’ve expanded and added more since then.

Our family is hoping to all make it out to the race this year. A lot depends on how Matt is feeling and where his blood counts are at in the days leading up to the race. We’re hoping he can at least attend to show his support. We live day to day here so things can change quickly. I am definitely planning on attending this year assuming Matt’s white blood cell counts are high enough to where it’s okay for me to be around crowds.

Lastly, I’ve said this before and it bears repeating again and again. The Matt Strong army that is our family and friends who have rallied around us during these past 4 years are a special group. Your love and support of Matt has been steady and unwavering throughout his whole cancer journey. We are so appreciative of the thoughts, prayers and overall good vibes that you have sent his way. Although we wish this cancer had not found Matt to begin with, we are blessed to have such a large, caring support system to lean on.
